Are the deals on the Friday after Thanksgiving really worth going out and fighting crowds for?

I've always worked retail until this year and I've seen so many people take nose plants to the ground and get trampled on for a tickle me elmo and cabbage patch dolls. This is the first year I haven't worked retail and I'm considering going out this afternoon to do some toy shopping...is it worth it?
