Baptismal Gift Dilemma...?

I don't subscribe to any religion and I have received an invitation in the mail to the R.C. christening of my cousin and her husbands newborn. I also live 8 states away and are unable to attend. I'm can't stomach giving a gift with religious symbolism in it or just giving money. I can't give like that to a ritual that I don't support or believe in. So I find myself in awkward territory and not sure what to do about a gift of sorts. Would making a baby time capsule be appropriate? I'm pretty crafty with things of that nature. I know her family well enough that deep down they are probably expecting money, but I refuse to send a monetary gift. I just spent $100 on baby shower gifts for them 4 months earlier anyway. Any suggestions? Serious inquiries only please...thanks!
