Can you get a fungal infection on your ear?

It happens off and on, mostly peeling, cracking, dry skin around the edge of my ear, but lately it's been getting worse. There's this dry build up in all the nooks and crannies and everything's dry and flaky. To be honest, it feels like I have athlete's foot on my ear! Help?
