I deposited a counterfeit check without knowing about ti!?

Don't be depressed be glad that you put a hold on the check. You have not lost anything. The bank is protecting you in case the person who issued the counterfeit check got your account information they can not withdraw anything from your account I wish I had a bank like you have. No they will not prosecute you. They will however release your money in 90 days like they said. Now on the other hand you might want to have a talk with SO CALLED FRIEND!
