Can anyone help me in making a dvd i bought in america so its region make it region 2 or region free????

bought a dvd in america so its region 1 and want to know if i can make the dvd by burning out another disk ect region free or will i have to make the dvd player region free. if so how can i do this without buying anything or could someone give me the code for a hitachi dvd recorder dv rv 8500E
