Has anyone ever heard of Natal Rats?

I have been told that they arerare and hard to find, I got 3 femals and 1 male a while back at a reptile show, they were selling them as feeders fpr snakes with digestion problems, but, I kept them as pets, well since then they have had 4 sets of pups, about 40-50 alltogether, they look like tiny badgers, they are smaller than rats and have fur not hair, everywhere that I have looked I can't find them, none of the petshops in my area even know what they are! So my ? is how many of you have seen or heard of them? And does anyone have them as pets?
