Is it nomal for a freshwater aquarium to get cloudy water after cleaning?

I have a 10 gallon freshwater aquarium and I did my routinely water change yesterday. This was the first time I had cleaned the aquarium (I am a beginner) and I noticed that the water is kind of cloudy. So, first my question above and second is there anyway to prevent this cloudiness?
