Why do conservatives want to support the same party that almost drove our country into the ground?

All the things you just stated still hold true. And the enlightened democrats have been in power in congress for 6 years, Obama for almost two. Only change is that the deficit is now over 13 TRILLION dollars. Yes, they are dong a much better job.
