Does he like me? what should i do?

I think it sounds like he has a crush on you. Since you said it's already been a year, his friends may have told him to give up. Rejection isn't so bad, it's usually more of a relief to just find out if he likes you or not, which it seems like he does like you. Just find out and save yourself all the worrying :)
